May's presentation will be "Sibley and Ramsey: Rivals & Allies," by historian Jayne Becker. Henry Sibley and Alexander Ramsey's political and business careers were intertwined for decades. First meeting in 1849, the political rivals, and at times allies, shaped the Minnesota political scene. Historian Jayne Becker will look at this unlikely alliance and discuss the intrigue, loyalties, and party politics of nineteenth century Minnesota.

Mendota After Hours is a monthly event that takes place on the second Friday of each month from May thru November. The site will open at 5:30 p.m. for a social gathering, with the presentation starting at 6:00 p.m. Light food and beverages will be available, including a cash bar.

Must be 21+ to receive a free drink ticket, or to purchase alcoholic beverages. Proof of age will be required before a drink ticket and / or beverage is purchased.
