Westwood Farms was established in Empire Township in
1892, a partnership between Col. John West of the West
Hotel in Minneapolis and William and Frederick Underwood.
The farm supplied fresh vegetables and dairy products
to the West Hotel and became a highly regarded livestock-breeding
establishment.
