Volunteers Appreciated!

General Volunteer Opportunities
These are some of the opportunities available at this time:

Newspaper clipper
The volunteer will be responsible for clipping and photocopying articles from current newspapers. Skill requirement: Ability to identify articles which have been marked in the newspaper. Ability to operate a photocopy machine. Commitment requirement: Once a week for a 2 - 4 hour shift.

Filer
The volunteer will be responsible for filing articles from the newspapers in the appropriate library files. Skill requirements: Familiarity with the 2,000 file headings the Society maintains. Commitment requirement: Once a week for a 2 - 4 hour shift.

Sorter
The volunteer will be responsible for sorting newspaper articles which were given to the Society by the Dakota County Library. Skill requirements: Familiarity with the 2,000 file headings the Society maintains. Commitment requirement: Once a week for a 2 - 4 hour shift.

File Maintenance
The volunteer will be responsible for going through existing files, eliminating duplicate material, possibly sorting the material into a usable order and possibly breaking down the files into additional sub-headings. Skill requirements: Familiarity with the 2,000 file headings the Society maintains. Commitment requirement: Once a week for a 2 - 4 hour shift.
